Garbage matte has visible white outline when exported

As it's somewhat tough to put into words, here is a screenshot of my issue. This clip has a four-point garbage matte around the character's mouth, as I am manipulating the mouth movements.

I've tried exporting this clip in various formats, but the white outline remains in all of them. I've exported other videos using a similar method and using Quicktime 1080i, but this white outline didn't show up.

Anyone have any tips?
